The owners
In August 1986, Jean Lavoie was the fourth generation to settle on the farm. Rachel, Jean’s wife, joined the company in 1992 as a shareholder. They have six children and hope for a successor to take over in the next few years.
Methods
Marc has been in charge of managing the herd for many years. Its productivity and genetics continue to improve each year. During the summer season, Jean devotes himself to cultivating his 326 hectares, working alongside other employees. To ensure the continuity of the business, a milking robot was introduced in September 2015. All the investments are intended to go toward automating repetitive tasks. Jean has also been involved in his cooperative and was even president of Nutrinor for five years.
